Workshop 2 - Situating your research as a contribution to a field

In-class discussions will start to address the relationship between defining the object of research (what are you actually asking questions about, and what kind of questions are you asking), the existing horizon of enquiry about this object, and the methods by which you can map out this terrain.

Major assignment  before our next workshop 25 and 26 January        

• Finishing your annotated bibliography

• Read one PhD Thesis

• Read article “Integrative literature reviews” and “The Georgian Interior”.

• Produce a map of the field of enquiry relating to your PhD project.
